For three generations we have made of our professional activity a style mission. After the war Antonio Deodato Laezza sensed the need to make garments on a pre-industrial scale with small production chains developing the potential of the artisans who grew up in the "shops".
Afterwards Paolo and Emanuele Laezza decided to activate an industrial packaging plant,
giving life to the Flannel Bay Napoli brand, distributed in Italy, in various European countries, in the USA and in Japan.
Today the third generation, Antonio and Giovanni Laezza, they run the company, presenting well-thought-out
collections and offering a range of proposals that every man can recognize in Flannel Bay garments.
The production structure is developed in an industrial complex of about 3 thousand square meters, 15 km from Naples. Here there are about 60 specialized and carefully selected employees in the Vesuvian area who use the latest machinery. A real enlarged laboratory in which advanced technology and manual tradition blend perfectly.
Employment strategy The employment strategy was based on the collaboration between master tailors and young apprentices. The former, day after day, instruct the latter, encouraging the passage of craft experience from one generation to the next. The production is managed through a system of intermediate controls that allows to know the progress of the quantities produced and the respect of production times.
The selection, as regards the fabrics, could only fall on the most prestigious Italian and English woolen mills.
A careful research activity leads to the choice of Ermenegildo Zegna cashmere, to the elegant fibers of the Loro Piana brothers, to the natural yarns of Cerruti, E. Thomas, Piacenza and Vitale Barberis Canonico.
Consistently, the buttons are only made of precious materials, such as the horn, the corozo and the mother of pearl.
Product/Fashion Division and Models Division cooperate in creating all the collections, by selecting the fabrics and developing the lines that will determine the fashion trends for each season. Selected materials then undergo a number of tests, to check shrinkage in weft and warp, fastness, tear and wear resistance. Models Division creates the season's models. The guidelines of this process are defined thanks to the interaction between the Development Manager and the Sales Manager, who give their own contribution in terms of customer demands and production possibilities. The manufacturing of each garment includes more than 120 operations. The human touch and accuracy blend perfectly with precision of machine.
Each model originates from moldings developed in over 40 years of experience in men's fashion and uses, for the realization, a software that takes measurements with millimeter precision. The production comes from the constant analysis of the product and the needs of customers, following the best Neapolitan sartorial tradition with particular attention to details, such as: the shirt sleeve, the totally unstructured shoulder, the stitching, COLUMBIA buttonholes and closing of the hand-woven collar .
